John O'Groats Ferry operates from May 1st to September 3O from John O'Groats to Burwick daily with connecting buses from Inverness and Burwick to Kirkwall. Tel: 01 955 611 353

Ryanair flight from East Midlands to Inverness for £30 including Airport Tax. Which if taken between May 1st – September 30th in a morning meets the 14.20 Orkney Bus via John O'Groats Ferry to Kirkwall. Arriving Kirkwall 19.30 it would miss the scheduled ferry to Shapinsay, however a charter ferry can be arranged. Web: www.ryanair.com
