Haughland House is a residential Retreat Centre, managed by a charitable trust, which opened in March 2006. It is located on the Island of Shapinsay, a 25min. ferry ride from Kirkwall on the mainland of the Orkney Islands.

The house was once farm buildings, which have been sensitively converted using the original sandstone, with grants from Orkney Enterprise, Orkney Islands Council, Inlight Trust, Tay Trust and the Unitarian Millennium Fund. The retreat accommodates up to 8 people, accessible to all and there is a large garden which is close to the sea and heather moorland. There is also a chapel converted from the stable.

There is an ongoing programme of meditation and workshops throughout the year, plus special events. However groups can book the centre for their own programme if they wish.
